New Exercise Group

Okay, if you're like me, you aren't getting enough exercise, or it's raining and you can't walk, or you're just too tired, or you would rather quilt than exercise - any number of reasons why an exercise group at Peace might be a good idea. If you are interested in exercise which will gear itself to those who can't do much to those who can get a great half-hour workout, come to Peace on Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. You will learn exercises to help with your balance, help tone up some muscles, and get the heart pumping a little more. We will start the classes on Monday, July 19 at 9:30 a.m. Hope to see you in the Great Room that day!

Pieces by Peace~ Quilting Group

PIECES BY PEACE

It's hard to imagine that this October will mark a year since Pieces by Peace displayed the prayer shawl quilts they had made. Since that time they have presented three of their quilts to congregation members. Now the group is working on another project and will be making another presentation, hopefully in October again. We meet Wednesday afternoons at 1:45 p.m. Come see this dedicated group at work.

     Quilting can be addictive!

Men’s Breakfast Club

NEWS FROM MEN'S BREAKFAST CLUB

PENNIES FOR PROSPERITY

As previously reported, last year Men's Breakfast Club was able to purchase ten $25.00 gift cards to Pick 'n Save from your contributions in the Pennies for Prosperity bucket.  Five were given to Shawano High School to be distributed to students in need and five were distributed to Peace UCC families by Pastor Marty.  We are continuing this program and hope to be able to do even more this year.  The bucket is usually in the narthex before worship and in the great room during fellowship time.  Watch for a second bucket so it can be both places.  Thank you in advance for your continued donations to helping needy families.

ALL men welcome.

Next meeting is Saturday July 10th at 9:00 a.m.

PRAYER CHAIN!

The missions committee has begun a prayer chain. The purpose of the chain is to spread the love of God for all people by praying for the needs of others!  Anyone who feels the need for a prayer may contact Pastor Marty, Ken Gleesing or the church office (526-2916).  This is a great way to develop and grow your prayer life, connect with your church family and deepen your relationship with God.

Wish List

Persons wishing to give memorials or honorariums to Peace United Church of Christ may designate funds to any ongoing ministry account [Sunday School (church camp scholarship are paid from this fund), Youth, Missions, etc.] or for the purchase of one of the following items:

1.   mutli-media screen

       (approximate cost $2000.00)

2.   Roof

        [Final Cost: $15,700]

At our congregational meeting on Sunday, July 12, we voted to replace the two flat sections of our church roof.  The roof work is now complete.  The original plan was to pay for the roof over a period of three years.  We have collected over one third of the amount needed to date.  Thank you to all who have such generous contributions.
