As a church, the center of our life together is our worship. We worship in the presence of God who wants a relationship with us. We worship a God who makes a claim on our lives. Our praise, our prayer, our proclamation all remind us that God is in charge of the world, the church, and of us. In worship
-
we celebrate in song, Word and Sacrament the story of Jesus, the story of God with us and for us.
-
we are reminded that we are loved and that we belong to God.
-
We are confronted by the demands of the gospel.
-
we are challenged to use the gifts and talents that God has given each of us.
-
we are reminded that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.
-
And if we are open to the working of God’s Spirit, we are transformed into the people God created us to be.
From worship, we are sent out to minister as God’s representatives in the world around us.
Children’s Sermons
Each week during worship a special time is set aside to talk with the children. The message during children’s time is designed to welcome and include as well as introduce the children to the theme of the worship at a level they can understand. Many adults find these messages fun and instructive, but they are not designed for adult entertainment. The focus is on the children and their growth in faith and understanding.
Family Friendly Worship
While children are always welcome and encouraged to be part of any worship service, on a periodic basis we plan services that are extra “family friendly”.
These services are more casual in nature and contain special elements designed to capture the interest of our young children.
